I can’t describe how I feel as an employee of one of the few remaining Sears stores. The working day is mostly reduced to stress and waiting for my store to be closed. The longer I wait, the greater the agony. It's a race against time and I just hope to get a new job before that happens or that I will at least find a job soon after I lose my job. Due to uncertainty, I'm having a hard time concentrating on my work.

Methinks Human Capital poster was joking.
Accept that you aren't going to leave until the store closes. Or you would have already. Relax. Think about unemployment and retirement. You'll find something.
It's pretty obvious that Eddie Lampert put losses, not profits over people.

9% of people working there are either college kids passing through, or stoned slackers stocking shelves for $8.50 per Hour because they couldn't pass a d–g test at Target. Nobody cares about losing those jobs, much less the stoned slackers themselves. They could get laid off Tomorrow, and they probably wouldn't even notice the difference when they go home to smoke a bowl. These are stepping stone jobs for college kids, or last-resort jobs for high school dropouts who can't pass a d–g test at more respectable establishments. Nothing more. Nothing to cry about. If Sears totally shut down now, exactly 7 people would give a sh!t.
Concentrate on your work? Nobody at Sears concentrates on anything other than playing with their phones or getting high. It's basically like working at the Water Park in that Johnny Knoxville film, "Action Point".
Give me a break! What company would have a department called "Human Capital" (and Associate Relations)? There will shortly be less than 50 total stores left. It's not like they need any of these so-called management positions. This is like musical chairs, except it's musical stores. And there there were NONE.
Is there more Sears & Kmart closures?
@bpk+19xvFI2 are you a representative for Eddie Lampert or Larry Costello? "Necessary for us to survive" I wonder who cooked that this one up the company is a joke no future what so ever accept to hire temporary employees to help with liquidation.
Good Afternoon,
I'm from the department of Human Capital and Associate Relations. If you need assistance with working in an uncertain environment, I recommend finding a new job. Transformco is all about innovation and making changes to better improve the company and profitability. We realize that change is uncomfortable for many associates, but it is necessary for us to survive. As such, if you are not comfortable working in a company that is constantly evolving, it would be for the best to leave the company now, then wait to get promoted to customer.
You can also contact our Employee Assistance Program for job transition advice.
Thank you very much,
- Human Capital and Associate Relations
There also selling fixtures at Non closing Sears & Kmart?
@oal+19xvFI2H Sears & Kmart are sadly dead end jobs thanks to Eddie Lampert putting profits over people. My recommendation is to get out now before the liquidators comes in. Unless you get hired to liquidate the store.
Honestly its bad environment for all of these workers especially during a global pandemic I think there just hoping that the end comes soon so that they no longer have to worry about Sears and Eddie Lampert he loves screwing the average middle class Americans out of jobs and has destroyed so many livlihoods
I left the company 5 years ago. I saw the writing on the wall and got out. You must not be smart, you're lazy, and you probably lack any real skills. There are plenty of opportunities at other retailers, yet you stay at sears lol.
