Thread regarding Nordstrom layoffs

How many stores will close this year?

Anyone have a guess? We’ve heard supposedly early March.

You will start hearing about 1-2 closures from late March or early April. There is a ramp down plan with associated comms. In 3-5 years there will be 10-12 FLS stores and rest online. Racks may continue to exist or maybe few racks will close. All that trunk club etc. maybe revamped or booted

Do we have a time frame of announcement?

12 full line closures. Racks are fine I think, they were either not discussed or maybe discussed in another meeting. I saw the slide with 12 FLS targeted, could be higher 15-18

Only full line. They’d increase the closure count in full line before they touched the rack in any major way. The rack stores are extremely cheap to run. Most with only two DMs & two ADMs and a handful of employees.

The rack stores are not excelling like a TJ, however there above water unlike our full line stores.

@Anon 12 stores, is that including rack or just full line? How do you know?

I’d guess around 10 plus the men’s store consolidating into the women’s store. (consolidation information coming from Mr Kool Aid, however it only makes sense)

Most likely announced around March or April. This would leave enough time for closure before anniversary.
