I would love to be laid off because I’m really fed up with this company. I feel like I’ve been here too long and it’s only now that I see that I shouldn’t have stayed here that long, but changed several different companies instead. At this point, however, I’m stuck in the middle - far from retirement, and old enough to no longer feel marketable.

Let’s hope this lawsuit breaks the company and we get our layoffs, OP! :)
Spoken by people that want to limit the competition and encourage you to quit.
Get out while you can, or at least start preparing.
“Staying with a company implies there is a career future for you.”
Or that I need a paycheck and haven’t gotten a new gig lined up yet.
It's a toxic environment. Staying with a company implies there is a career future for you. You have none at Apache. It's only a paycheck, so start looking and jump at the first opportunity.
Same boat, quit and never look back. So much stress was lifted when I quit this hell hole.
But who can give up that GTFO $?
Don’t doubt yourself. Life is too short to not grab opportunity and is too long to stay somewhere that isn’t adding positive impact to your life (or the world, really).
Go for it!
