Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

For those laid off, when can we start receiving unemployment benefits?

For those laid off, when can we start receiving unemployment benefits? When I filled out the Texas UC application, it asked for the last day I worked (Specifically, the "very last day you performed work or services for a company or person, not necessarily the last date you were on the payroll"). I was put on Garden Leave and handed in my laptop in December with effective separation in February. Does this mean I could've been receiving UC benefits in December and January?

Also, if my Severance Payment was for X weeks, will that make me ineligible for UC for X weeks?

I got Pip'd in July. I was eligible for 6 months of unemployment as if my last paycheck on 10/31, not my end date of 7/31. Vacation compensation occured in November but was not counted against unemployment, but the bi-monthly paychecks were.

I loved my time on paid vacation and unemployment but it has come to an end due to those darn TWC job search requirements. TWC policy of making you apply for jobs to get you off the program works.

If @OP was let go from involuntary program in December, their last day would be in Feb, not March...

When they raise our taxes again to support unemployment, food stamps, student loan repayment, school lunch etc.

You could only apply for Unemp benefit right after your official separation day from EM, in your case Mar.1st which is right around the corner. Severance and vacation payout don't count as pay. Good for you, you will get $835 per week in benefit.
