I would not consider this proof that the store is closing. We've already confirmed that several still open Sears stores have real estate listing. Yes, they will all close eventually, but until they start a liquidation sale or give a timeline for closing, we should still consider it as not closing.

For all of you saying that Kmart in Key West won't close, it will someday. Kmart wont be around for much longer so it will be on a closing list in the future. All Kmart's will close at one point, Eddie has and will close more stores. Its sad, but its the truth.

I have read elsewhere that Target is locked out of the Puerto Rico market because of a trademark conflict with Target rent-a-car. They could possibly get around this by using a different name (perhaps a Spanish one) in Puerto Rico.

@5shb+19q9Q6JO I don't Know what I'm Talking about? OK, let's see, you claimed Key West's Hispanic population was irelevant. I think almost 25% is far from irelevant. You claimed that Hispanics prefer Walmart, and while this might be true, you neglected to realize THERE ARE NO WALMARTS ON ANY OF THE FLORDAY KEYS! The furthest south WM that I Know of is in Florida City, on the mainland. So Kmart runs a near monopoly on the keys.
So you were already wrong about 2 things. You found one article, but here is one too. Bar owners in Key West defied shut down orders. They wouldn't be doing that if there were no potential customers, would they?

Here's a article about the packed bars in Key West: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8745085/Key-West-unusual-ghost-town-despite-Florida-reopening-bars.html Again proving you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Just because people are allowed to go somewhere doesn't mean they actually do.

These past few rounds, I've watched Sears close lots of stores where the auto centers are already closed. This new round of closures had 7 Sears closing and 5 of those stores don't have auto centers. But they also close stores with auto centers so dont think that all of the stores below will close next round. I included a list of the stores below without auto centers.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Whittier, CA
Palm Beach Gardens, FL
Frederick, MD
Westland, MI
Massapequa, NY
Greensboro, NC
Harrisburg, PA
Willow Grove, PA
San Juan, PR

Key West will not close next, neither will Marathon or Key Largo. They have an almost Guam-level monopoly on the Florida Keys. Miami might close (because they have Wally/Targy there), but the other three, not they won't, at least not now. Tourists are flocking to the Florida Keys. They are not strict with lockdowns in Florida. Bars are packed down there now, look it up.
As for Hispanics, they certainly do like Kmart. Look at the posts they write in places like Puerto Rico about how disappointed they are whenever a Kmart closes. And I don't Know where you got your data from, but almost one-fourth (23.7%) of Key West's residents are Hispanic:

https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/keywestcityflorida

That is not an "irrelevant" Hispanic population, as you put it. And if anything, I would think that number is on the low side, because I think that is from the 2010 census.

KMart Key West can't close? You don't know what you're talking about. In case you've been living in a cave for the past year, any business that is dependent on tourists isn't doing that great right now. I also don't know why you think Hispanic people are in love with KMart, they aren't. They gave up on the store 10-15 years ago just like everyone else. In fact, Walmart caters more to them. I've been in Walmarts in areas with large Hispanic populations and they have entire aisles devoted to Hispanic foods. Even if your assertion about Hispanic people were true, Key West does not have a large Hispanic population so its irrelevant.

You want more proof the store is on its way out? Just Google it. Almost every single recent review says the store has no inventory.

They aren't closing Key West Kmart LOL, at least not soon! They enjoy almost the same monopoly on the Florida Keys as they do in Guam. The tourists, lack of competition, combined with the Hispanic population of that region (who have an affinity for Kmart that virtually any part of the country does not have), Key West, Marathon, Key Largo, and probably Miami will be among the last to close, along with Guam.

Don't base your predictions on job listings, LOL, as they are just computer-generated BS that have no basis in reality. We're in February, Slowest Time for retail, they aren't hiring anybody now LOL!

Imagine thinking that Sears job postings, have anything whatsoever to do with future closings. LMAO, the last NC Kmart had a store manager job listing just immediately before it was announced closing. As did Holyoke MA, right before they were announced as closing.

Unless the job listing specifically states "store closing", it means nothing. Those listings are just generated by a computer-based algorithm so people think they are hiring and not closing.

I have seen stores with zero jobs listed stay open, and jobs with tons of Full-Time managerial openings, be announced as closing The Next Week.

TL/DR: The job listings have absolute zero bearing on what stores will be closing on the next list, so frankly, your prediction is about as meaningful as my picking Roulette numbers in Las Vegas. It's totally random, and any number can come up. Put all the stores into a hat, shake it, and pick some while blindfolded, they all have an equal chance of closing (with the small exception of Guam/USVI Kmarts, which we can be fairly certain won't be closing soon, because of the monopoly they enjoy in those regions).
