Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

More shrinkage in the works the way for power.

GE annual report shows struggles and successes, quantifies shrinkage. Get ready 2021 the year of massive layoffs by many large corporations. GE will be using the Covid line for layoffs to cover up the mid managed company. I can see power taking a huge hit in 2021 in terms of restructuring. Based off the lack of demand for the products in power. 273 will be left with 150 or so employees after this year. The CA Agreement Did Nothing But gave back in turn to keep members employed for a few months. Scratch another win for the company and a much bigger win for LC and his bonus!

Yes, more layoffs are coming to GE, especially GE Power. But this is nothing new. GE always has layoffs scheduled. If it's not your group this time, it will be next time. As the GE headcount plummets, your head has a higher chance of being on the chopping block.

Word on the street is that a GE Power manufacturing facility, that recently reduced its employee numbers, is have a Major Product, which this site has produced for 50+ years, is being shipped over seas to a Central European country for future production,,,"For the good of the Company !"
Surprised !? ... NOT !!!
And YET !!! All is good in the little GE World...(which THEY keep spewing to everyone at all of the endless meetings.)
So all of the mouth breathers out there that just keep drinking the Kool-aid, just continue on with the status quo, while the ones that made GE what it used to be (a Powerhouse of World Marketing & Manufacturing) move up in life as they take control of their existence and move on from the sad sinking GE Ship.
Best advice this person ever took are these parting words,,,
*GET OUT WHILE THE
GETTIN'$ GOOD !!!*
Peace out !

Lol ya I’m sure that 273 is going to go from 750 employees to 150 in less than a year sounds legit, this was the most ridiculous comment yet.

From Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2020, GE dropped from:

$95.2 billion in revenue to $79.6 billion
205,000 employees to 174,000
70,000 U.S. employees to 56,000
38,000 Power employees to 34,000
6,750 unionized U.S. employees to 5,900
190 factories in 37 other countries to 149 in 34 countries
94 factories in 30 U.S. states to 82 in 28 states
The decreases in the workforce were the result of COVID, of continuing efforts by GE to cut costs, and of GE selling off certain businesses.

Power was suppose to cut 20% a couple years ago. I don’t think they did so this year will be the rest of the 20% and more.

I’m not glad I came back a big mistake I am humbled enough to admit. Yet other call back members don’t believe what is about to take place. They are so nervous to go back making $12-$13 an hr before GE. It’s kinda sad and funny at the same time. They think they are engineers some of them because they have painted bars for a few years. They also feel untitled and earned the 45 min lunches for getting lucky to land this JOB. Well maybe they can get a painter job making $17 hr if they are lucky. Always remember T stood and stands for Temp employee.
