I don't know what goes on at Corporate but the ego-driven infighting, within at least the division I'm working, has become indefensible. When we were acquired, our company and the Intrado workforce seemed to be highly engaged and employees willing to consistently perform and above and beyond reasonable expectations. But you are sweating the assets too far. Burn out is real and pervasive at this point. VPs & Directors should remember that they are compensated at those levels; individual contributors and line level employees are not. You can't just say "I work these long hours so my team should, too." No. That's not the way it works. You can't make your team responsible for the work that came with your promotion and raise. Are you promoting them when they pick up your work? Are they getting a raise when they take on your responsibilities? No. I have never seen such a division between hierarchal levels at any company I've worked - not what I signed up for almost 9 years ago; it's as though those at the top of the org chart will only interact with the next level down. it is unspoken but it seems like VPs, Directors don't want their employees to speak to anyone on a higher rung than they themselves. My supervisor gets credit for my work. Although he thanks me and congratulates me privately, it is never public recognition. I know the choice is mine. Stay or go. Stay or go. It happens every day.

I occasionally check back to this forum as a former employee and see the same concerns from many of you. Take it from me and many others that have found that there are companies that care for their people. It will not get better at Intrado. There is no magic wand. John isn’t going to change the course of this ship. Stop holding out for your division to be sold or waiting for a severance.
For your mental health alone, you deserve more.
That's Corporate America. The winners are not the smartest or most capable and certainly not the best leaders. Winners are the ones willing to play the game wherever it takes them.
It’s not going to change, it’s only going to get worse. You are now in a corporate Lord of the Flies scenario. The choices are - leave or be emotionally/mentally destroyed.
