Wessling and Hasselroth factories will be closed down, resp. transferred to Cluj and Scotland (correct, a country outside the EU with all the trade obstacles upcoming) in order to save money. It is concerning about 500 people and hundreds of years of expertise, knowledge and experience is just getting thrown away. The Emerson management must be blind as a mole.

If you work in a SSC that is not in cluj, Costa Rica or Manila then you are pretty screwed. :( everything is being centralised. From a business perspective it makes sense. From a Jobs perspective it’s terrible. Especially when there are no jobs at the moment :(

Let me preface this with I definitely don't want anyone to lose their job. However, it would be nice to see cuts coming from non-critical areas.

With all these people being let go, have we let go an equivalent amount of HR?
With no travel for the last year, have we cut back on executive admins?
We have round the clock security at every facility? Is the night shift really needed?
Many functions need to be streamlined and pulled out of the individual businesses and taken to a group or platform level. HR, IT, Marketing, etc. There is so much duplicated effort that it makes my head spin.

Emerson wasted an opportunity to completely modernize the way we're structured and go to market. Instead we protected poor performing leaders and their lackeys and cut the heart and soul of the organization in the engineering and innovation spaces. I guess it's grow through sky high multiplier acquisitions as usual.

10 people layed off in Actuation technology in Italy (Biffi) on Jan 29th
And much more to come since many activities like engineering, administration, etc. are moved to low cost countries (India, Rumania, etc.)
