Thread regarding JCPenney layoffs

Associate hours

My store just announced new hours for employees to limit on costs, and to potentially avoid layoffs. Anyone going through the same issue?

jcpenney stop pressing your employees to go to work now, it's cold people not shopping, remember everyone shops online now.

At the jcpenney i work at, we will begin coming in one hour before the store opens. Most of my fellow coworkers are not to thrilled about this because that means working till later in the day opposed to working early in the morning. We are not sure if this has to do with the new owners or this is how it was supposed to be once the stores opened back again.

I worked for a different retailer and they used to do the same thing every January. If you complain then they arrogantly tell you that you are lucky to have a job. I always used to work two jobs for this reason (or otherwise I couldn't pay the bills). Of course, now is not a good time to find another job, so my only suggestion is to apply for partial unemployment assuming your state allows it (I think most do). Hey, you only need to qualify for $1 a week in unemployment to get the extra $300 a week right now, so it would be worth it.

CRAZY, cause what happens if you have a covid spreader at your store now what JCP, liquidate everything and pay us all out, AMAZON CAN USE THE SPACE. Nobody has the infinity gauntlet to snap this back.
