Some Project Managers in Major Project are very lazy. They request the interns to do their job and manage the multi million project estimates. An intern is still a university student with no experience at all in the industry. However, the interns are the ones managing the projects. This explains why the projects at Pembina fail.
I am a PM and I think it is unfair about what is being said about the Project managers. The scope of work is given by Systems Planning group and it is poorly run. The manager and supervisor constantly put the blame on others and don't take any responsibility. As a PM, I can only work with what I am given.
You got to remember that it is the VP and SVP who hire them and the SVP literally has no clue about projects. He is a failed lawyer trying to run a department he has no business running. It has always been about an extremely poor exec leadership team.
Something to mention, one of the Engineering supervisors at Major Projects is not a professional engineer.
Hard to understand how the Engineering supervisor leads the engineering team managing multi-million projects when he is not fully qualified as an engineer.
