Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Bonuses and cuts

Well I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t nice to see the managers get it stuck to them too. I was in the crew room by my senior managers office when he got the call about his bonus and it was 50% less than last time he was p-ss-d. The admin lady said she was getting cut and that the managers could handle their own admin stuff.

Next week is going to be interesting.

A bonus really can’t be cut unless it is done away with altogether. A bonus is just that...a bonus. It’s Extra. So if you still got a bonus...it didn’t get cut. The amount is irrelevant as it is never guaranteed.

Not fake news.. They go there bonuses cut. Agreement employees, non-agreement employees you need to accept that you’re not important. You need too ask yourself who that $$$ went too. Career shift?

Everyone at every job everywhere has someone to answer to aka the boss. I am a union employee Trainman and realize we don’t have it bad. I don’t have a boss riding me all day as long as I do what I’m supposed to I never even deal with management. No job in the world would just let people manage themselves. Think about it.

The way the bonuses are set up is the problem whether you like management or not why would a manager get a higher bonus living in a small town with no rail traffic compared to a metro area.

We might be in the same boat now but some of these guys were trying to sink it before they got on it. We’re not on the same team.

The comment that 9 out of 10 places run themselves is laughable. I am a union employee and some of my coworkers don’t want to leave the crew room until a manager runs them out. I don’t care one way or the other about bonuses, but I don’t take pride in anyone’s misery. The company has decided that anyone not in the exec level is expendable, including union and management. We are all in the same boat.

I’m glad they don’t get a bonus like the previous year why should they? They are ruining the company and they act like they should receive a bonus??

The same song and dance every year. All these guys acting mad about their bonus but they stay. The smart managers already quit bonus or no bonus. The guys here now just talking tough. If you are making your life and long term career decisions over a bonus then you had no real options to begin with.

Finally some justice is being served. 9 out of 10 places. Run themselves. No pos manager needed. You want to save money UP. Start at the top
