The answer is in the question

Consider the ratio of hiring against the thousands of laid-off the last 5 years

Consider how many of the postings are old and/or not really being recruited for

Sure, at present Bose still has enough money to fund its seemingly random walk, to where

Under stress and confused, the company chose to walk away from loyalty as a two-way street some years ago - thousands of loyal employees became a problem and not seen as part of the solution

One downside of being private is the absence of mandatory, established, documented, and regularly measured accountability to stakeholders, one group being the employees

Take care, be aware

Loyalty towards the company only goes so far when the company has no loyalty towards the employees. Finding something better elsewhere is a very rewarding experience.

People are leaving and getting much more money elsewhere. No raise or bonus last year, uncertainty about the future- can you blame them? Loyalty towards the company only goes so far when there are bills to pay, kids to support.

But Bose is still hiring. If you search the job site such as indeed.com and LinkedIn, there are openings. Why is the company recruiting if it has no money or no future?

If you still work at Bose and are not actively applying to external roles you are delusional. It’s amazing how enjoyable work can be again when there aren't constant talks of layoffs.

Go figure.... what’s in it for people.
There’s no future here left at Bose. Leave the sinking ship.

Get a new job and enjoy going to work again! There’s more and better out there in the world for you.
