Tony, the restaurants are where I would spend my money on a visit to the NYC flagship. The retail shopping itself only has value to me as glamorous spectacle. It would be a fun lunch stop on the way to MOMA or a walk in Central Park. Buying clothes on my tourist visit? Not so much.

What to do with store 212?

Indeed. The NYC Women’s store has to be a major burden. Does anyone really think they would have closed 16 stores, if they were not propping up that women’s store? I live across the Hudson in jersey no one is going to NYC. Indoor dinning & entertainment is shut down that’s half the appeal of NYC.

Perfect timing on that NYC store and building, that has to be dragging on them by now... and oh, Canada!

And judging by comments on Facebook, online sounds like they are dropping the ball – many many upset customers, icon members even saying they are fed up with Nordstrom lately. Missing items, incorrect items, used items sold as new, returns not processed, not typical friendly CS anymore, and still slow shipping...

Probably not a fun time there right now I'm guessing... pizza party anyone?

I dunno, Anon, I want to say I feel bad and will miss the stores, and I will. But if I look at how am I actually buying my clothes these days, it's all online.

What are they supposed to do? It's tragic, it's zugzwang. Nordy has to move, but any position from here will disappoint.

More info coming by end of Feb. Situation is dire in store and online, store more. Several stores will be closed. Nordy needs to move to full online in next 3 years.

Just returned from a visit to store 001. It’s a morgue.

The shoplifters are more visible, but so are the LP dudes, dressed in black and with walkie-talkies. So there’s an arms race escalation there. Store just not the same without the restaurants and the bar, which I like and endorse. Sales staff chatting with each other, some real cuties in women’s active, highlight of my visit.

I am sad.

Skipped the Rack.
