Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

ORC is not the best

This new oracle recruiting cloud system is not good at all. Whoever came decided this was a super good idea should be fired. Our warehouse has gone almost a month without a positive increase in headcount. It seems like there are 100s of job postings with poorly worded postings titles. You bring 1 person for orientation to try and get comfortable navigating through the new onboarding process and there’s a technical issue every time. Then the HRTech is useless in trying to solve it. Project Phoenix was a failure.

Just witnessed a deluge of jobs on the site. Interestingly, no fulltime sales associate positions in sight, only part time. The only full time positions on there are managerial. "Cheap, cheap" said the little bird.

@1amz+19ZW11zb Ha. I know. No one else in my store does though because they refuse to even look at the training. Absolutely refuse. Applications are pouring in for store hiring positions and they won't review them. Can't wait to see what happens when phone hiring does their magic. I'm the only one in the office and I just got covid. No one's gonna be in there 🤷‍♀️. Oh well.

But the SM does not understand that we can't hire someone without a position posted, and an application, and an interview, and an offer letter..... She wants it done this instant and I keep explaining this but she says no that's not true. But she won't watch the training. I'm ready to put my head through the wall.

If you were laid off and got severance, you HAD to have a 91 day break it you would have had to pay back a portion of that severance. Did you really want to do that?

@1xsl+19ZW11zb, can't skip the application process. There has to be an application in the system to make an offer, which has to be accepted by the candidate to generate the next steps in the hire. Can't get open jobs posted correctly so there's nothing for most stores to have someone even be able to apply for a job anyway. Going on a month now, totally stuck in neutral.

Macy’s Jobs was a big part of the reason I couldn’t get a transfer to another store within 91 days to bridge my years of service after I was laid off. They would schedule interviews for me and not complete them. They would post jobs that really weren’t available. They never answered a phone call. So when I started again at a different store I lost my past years of service and had to be a new hire.

Employee transfers (departmental or between stores) are practically impossible. Stores desperately in need of staffing cannot advertise their many open positions. If our new HR site were a blimp it'd be the Hindenburg.

Macy’s job website is a disaster. The search tool doesn’t even work. You can try to search a local city and nothing comes up. You have to use exact town to see a job posting. Completely Amateur and a disaster. This will be another nail in the Macy’s coffin
