Why go back when you interviewed the first time and ask slaw about future lay offs an he tells you. Union Pacific laid off mechanical once before and couldn’t get any to come back. They learned there lesson then. There will not be any mechanical lay offs.. NOT!! What a lie!! I’m telling everyone that has asked me about applying for Union Pacific jobs. not to go down the Union Pacific road. they lie to get what they want then sh1t on you when you least expect it. Good luck to all of you that still have a job there. Double up on your work and be happy!😬
Ok mind befuddler! Do you even know why unions were created in the first place? Unions at one time did have a very specific purpose. I would say check it out on Google, but it's getting too hard to trust anything you read online. Some local libraries will have books and various other sources on hand for researching unionization. I don't give a sh1t about that place anymore. I'm not there, and will not be going back. I don't recall anyone disputing the company greed, but I'm not sure if you're aware of what the unions used to stand for. The company greed and the lack of union representation to its members are both real problems right now.
We are the Union. You need to use the word some not we! Some unions have sold us out and they want to say. You don’t come to meetings. Therefore we are doing the best we can? When nothing ever gets done your wasting your time.

It befuddles my mind on the union blame. You guys act like there is wording in the contract that prevents layoffs. Focus on the greed of the company,dont blame the union
Why return to UP, only to be furloughed a month later?
Having a hard time getting people to go back? Huh? When you burn a candle from both ends and you get burned, most people tend to learn from that mistake so they don't make that mistake again. When you get employed by the UP, it's literally the same as the candle scenario. Guess what? People learned from the mistake, and they're not doing it again.
I know that there are many old head railroad guys and girls reading this.

Unions just like the worthless FRA have been paid off, that has allowed UP to do whatever they want.
