Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Profit over safety

Shell values money more than safety. That’s why they choose the unsafe practice of running that derilect plant through freezes and hurricanes. That’s also why it blew up in the 90s. Profits over safety every time.

I don’t understand why this post from another thread got downvoted when this is one hundred percent true. Is there someone who actually thinks that safety is their priority?

@1xzv because oil and gas still pays better than other alternatives and Shell still has one of the best benefits out of oil majors. So these ppl will continue to complain and not leave until they get full medical benefits in retirement.

Shells pension and retirement benefits are double edge swords. While it attracts talent it also promotes this rest and vest culture

The company is the safest and friendliest work environment one could ever hope for. The management has the employees’ best interests at heart. The senior management is warm and open to change that makes sense.

If you are commenting on this thread and still work for Shell and or retired from Shell then you also well value your own profit over your safety.

If Shell is such a bad place to work at and such a bad company to work for then why arent't people quitting left and right.
