So as we look to the future after phase I closures (announced on Thursday, January 28th, 2021) are completed on Sunday, April 18th, 2021, and phase II closures (announced on Friday, February 12th, 2021) finishing up on Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 we have to take a look at when the last three rounds will start and end. I received a message from corporate on when those rounds will start and end. The third-to-last round will be announced on Thursday, May 5th, 2021, and will end by Sunday, August 1st, 2021. The second-to-last round will be announced on Thursday, August 5th, 2021, and liquidation sales of that list will wrap up by Sunday, October 31st, 2021. Finally, the last round that closes them all will be announced on Thursday, November 4th, 2021 with the stores closing by Sunday, January, 23rd, 2021, and that will officially mark the end for Sears & Kmart. So Christmas 2021 will be the final holiday season for these two iconic brands. The plans are subject to change but this is the latest internal information from corporate I have.

@1rbu+19VOy5nw Not always. We pretty much went all Summer, Fall, 2020, without any closings announced. Then they started big in Winter 2020-21. There's not always a rhyme, reason, or pattern to them. You could go 6 Months without a list, then get a rapid succession of lists every few Weeks.
He may not know anything, but there has been a pretty consistent pattern of Sears and Kmart announcing a new round of closings around the time when the previous round of liquidations is winding up.
Is the next round of closures going to release next month or in May?

Moreover, it will NOT be the end of ALL Kmarts and Sears. Kmart in Guam will NOT be closing soon, and again, several franchised Sears Hometowns will remain, because they cannot (because of franchise laws) be forced to close down. Additionally, the Sears website will remain, so your assertion that "and that will officially mark the end for Sears & Kmart", is simply not true.
As long as Guam Kmart remains open, and even one Sears Hometown remains open, it is NOT the end of Sears/Kmart. Blockbuster video still has one location, so we cannot claim that Blockbuster video has ended. Kmart and Sears will each have at least one location for Years to come. So go back to your elevators, chump.

I received a message from corporate just a few minutes ago stating that phishing messages were deliberately put out by corporate with fake yet truthful sounding dates of three subsequent closing waves. It turns out they wanted to see who posts these dates on Social Media. Each message sent to those who think they are important enuf to get these messages contained unique dates. Now that you've posted the dates, we know exactly who you are. We've rehired our team of Corporate Investigators who were let go about 5 years ago. They'll be contacting you for final disposition.
Additional people are being hired to publish dates of when the first wave of new store openings will be coming. I have heard thru the corporate grapevine that many people will be rehired.
