More Build and Hold: F-150

Just stupid. Just saying.

Detroit News: Detroit — Ford Motor Co. on Thursday said it would build F-150s without some electronic modules that contain semiconductors the industry is struggling to source.

Happens when you rely so much on one platform.

Big pressure on government for help. Whaaa.

@1hhn Also CEO and other execs bonuses are linked to "number of units sold". So do not believe for one minute that any C-Suite exec has any interest other than lining their own pockets.

You are correct. Once the vehicles leave the plant they are considered "sold". That is why the plant has strict quotas to build vehicles. Get the numbers at or above the quotas and fix quality issues later. The "sold" quotas are then part of the financial report to Wall Street.

I think this helps the sales numbers?
Or maybe they are fudging sales numbers with built numbers?

Can you “hold the under carriage rust” on mine that will sit and wait for components. Tried that once and how did that work out.

I want mine with a raspberry pi, a carburetor, and a distributor. And a BAG of chips.

Believe it or not F-150s were built for decades before semiconductors even existed. Honestly you can stick a Raspberry Pi in there and it'd do just fine.
