I am still safe, but I am very worried about my existence because there is a high probability that I will be laid off soon. It’s so tense that I am not expecting anything good to happen. And now I’m under tremendous stress because I haven't found an alternative in time. In fact, after the previous round of layoffs, I did not prioritize enough my job search and instead I approached job hunting very casually. Terrible feeling. How much effort did you put in trying to find a new job?

Such a shame that there will be so many good people about to be made redundant once more. Most people could see it coming and those with enough bravery took the chance last year to move on while they had the chance.
Loosing a job isn't easy at the best of times but, there are opportunities out there if you look and are willing to try new ventures. Without doubt, there are far too many seniors, supervisors, foreman's, and managers within the facility, you don't need that much layers and the money spent on these layers could be put to better use, not that I am looking for anyone to loose their job, its just or at least it was, a matter of fact. I dare say that the likes of Blake and Jeff will be pointing towards COVID and the struggles of the pandemic, but the troubles started a long time before COVID.
Last year, before leaving (I kid myself that I chose to leave :-)) when looking around these different layers, I was amazed at just how much people were in each department. Just how much were in the likes of engineering, QA/QC, HSE, controls etc. What I couldn't get over was the amount of staff within HR, are all these departments still heavily populated?
As always, its the people at the coal face that will suffer, they are the ones getting the orders out out on time while some of the others just push paper around, and stand at the coffee machine and tell each other how well they've done.
After the video got leaked, the three amigos actually end up getting promoted, it says it all really about DQ, those running the business and the shareholders. It could only happen at DQ.
As for me, I can't say that my skills i learned over the past twenty years are being put to use but, its nice speaking to different people throughout the day when I'm out delivering their shopping. No hassle, no internal politics.

The video leak was the reason for the slow death of Dril-Quip (DQE) and the wrong people were punished in loosing there jobs that should have been the three top brass yanks that deserved the punishment. Major shareholders must also take the blame for no action taken.This is the main cripple of DQE not the excuse of pandemic.Now employees are suffering the consequences that UK companies are going to other suppliers.Old saying, what goes around comes around.

Looks like they are winding down to closure , tbh ill probably hang on til the end given the current climate, this is whst theseparasites are banking on though

Foolishly I trusted our management. Then the bomb shell hut with the video nasty and there was no hiding from the truth. Get out if you can and as quickly as you can, things will not get better and there is no transition as we keep getting told.
