Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Got laid off, found another job that paid 25% more

And it's in the medical field, which aligns more with my purpose-driven goals than O&G.

If you hate Exxon, start looking for other jobs. There will be better opportunities out there.

You don't know it, but your life is miserable because of your work environment. Get out. Your life is worth it.

I know most xombots don't understand this. 25-30% increase is what you should expect when switching companies. Experienced hire to xom with several other majors under my belt. The only way to increase your base salary is to switch companies....

As soon as you hire on to a company you begin to erode your base worth because said company does not keep you on the same base salary growth curve. Those 2 and 3 percent raises don't add up to much each year. Folks working at the same company for 25_20 years are probably severely underpaid compared to what they're worth at another company.

This is normal now. You have to negotiate for the highest base and then leverage that number to your next company in 3-5 years.

Let's just say that 25% more is a significant sum

LOL, OK, champ. It's obvious your "purpose driven goals" made you unfit for work at Exxon. Guess they made a correct pick there.
