There needs to be a correction to the point about "Do your work and go home" to "Do your work that is of pride, quality and value ...WITHIN YOUR WORKING HOURS". Leave once your time is up and do it again tomorrow. Watch out for management looking to exploit vulnerable workers. An example of a corporation exploiting their workers: My brother-in-law works for Pembina Pipelines as a middle manager. Before the pandemic he was regularly putting in ~30 hours of overtime every week just to "get ahead" and appear like he was a team player. Now that they are working from home, there is still an "unwritten expectation" that you will continue to work those hours, and respond to e-mails and tasks at 3pm on a weekend, or at 7pm during the week. As you would expect, their marriage is suffering and kids don't see their Dad. Company over family. The entire thing sounds completely perverted and toxic. Don't be him or those people. Put in your time and leave to live your one life. FYI... When a company / HR talk about how their corporate culture is "family oriented" or how it is "just like a big family". Red flag. That means you better like our family because you won't be seeing much of your own!

I've been promoting working just during working hours in my team - especially after flex days turned into earned flex days, which are now designated days off. Pembina is getting greedy and loyalty is evaporating as a result.
Hopefully the Pembina brother-in-law sees this! Wake up buddy and even better read the Cenovus layoff page.
