When I worked for Staples Retail, we could not maintain an ethnic diversity. All management were white and when they did hire non-white associates they would quit very quickly.
Oddly, the people who stayed the longest were young white "liberal minded" associates, "conservative" types also did not stay long either.
Just wondering if this is just in my area or if this is more widespread.
Thanks.

I use to work at SBA Canada and it's true. The pretty white guy with blue eyes on our team had everything handed to him. Hes been promoted countless times and hes the only one left on the team that's still at Staples.
Great post and I love your freedom of speech! We are in unusual times and all the causes are getting tiring. The border issue is a perfect test for our new VP and the lack of any information proves your earlier point.
I’m honestly concerned about the future for our kids!
It is really a shame when they put people in a position just because they are black, they are white, they are asian, they are latin american. Why does it matter if you put a le–b-an to fill a slot when there is a straight lady who is better qualified? It doesn't, and it shouldn't. We are seeing this now with our Vice President Harris, she was not qualified for the position, but because she is 'black' and a 'women' she got the job. There were other women way better qualified, but because they were too white, they lost. It makes me mad that I can believe in God, or have my views, but in this cancel culture could lose my job. Sorry LBGQ- but sorry you should not get jobs over people who are better qualified, just because you want to live a certain way, shouldn't make it mandatory for the rest of us to have to believe in your lifestyle choice.
Sorry Trans, if you were born a male, guess what, you are he/him, same for those born female you are she/her and if there are those that call you by what is on your birth certificate, grow a pair (if you haven't chopped them off yet).
I worked with numerous folks who were black AND in management. One, a senior VP known for his use of the phrase "bidness" was also known for being a racist. One of the others, a DM, was simply known for incompetence. I left in 2014, but last I knew they all were still employed. Yes Staples was inclusive>to a fault!
Lots of ethnicity in all departments and levels at Staples - in the retail stores anD the HQ. In fact they go out of their way to be inclusive to all. Go grind your axe somewhere else.
Forgot to mention that the coworkers I kept up with who left Staples got better paying jobs and were generally happier, including myself.
Those who stayed at Staples always complained and shrugged their duties and the cycle continues from what I hear.
Still don't understand why the best workers who coached and could be coached were treated poorly while the complainers and slowpokes were catered to and a small group of elite managers seemed to like it that way. My experience comes from working in three different stores in my area, since stores always needed help because people would just quit. Glad I left Tribal Narcissism is not for me.
I knew many folks of many races across HQ at every level.
I think it really comes down to three things. 1 ) skill 2) your cultural acclimation, and 3) education .
Cultural animation has to do with the 'would i work with this person' idea. There is inherent bias!
You'll find when there are a bunch of people that are highly skilled but lack cultural etiquette and lack the 'buddy' persona, they get stuck in low level positions under a person of the same race (or similar) that is near or fully culturally aligned.
It's been like this everywhere for all of history. It's not a racial thing. It's a culture thing. From Irish, Italians, to Black and Hispanics, those whom succeed acclimate. Those whom don't, stay out or low. I tell you this because it's true. And you don't get hired if you're too far from the norm! It's not about skin, or gender. Frankly, few give a shyt about that these days. Thank God!
This ties into inclusion as it's culture and individual familiarity and comfort that drives it. Not organizations.
Sorry for typos if any!
