I was impacted in the last round of layoffs and still haven’t found employment. I’m starting to get anxious. I’ve got a good bit of savings that will carry me for a little over 9 months but I am kind of desperate to find something quick. I’m single with no children and I’ve cut down drastically on my spending. I have been networking regularly but so far nothing has come up through that avenue. I’ve paid to get my resume professionally done so I can be more appealing to companies. I’ve put in over 20 applications a week and have heard from some, had interviews but it doesn’t pan out. Is there something else I should be doing? Should I look into temp agencies? Should I also look into fast food and similar jobs just to tie me over? Any advice is welcome at this point.

No one cares. And when it is their turn, no one will care then either. ADP is not doing your career or image any good. It is a dreadful place to work. When you go almost anywhere else you will realize just how bad ADP really is.
What self-pity and bitterness? I reread the OP's post and don't see that. Just the recollection of facts. If negative things have happened to an individual, that doesn't automatically mean the person is bitter and wallowing in self-pity.
Oh, yeah, almost forgot. People who play the bitterness card just want to discredit the poster. An easy cheap shot to take. Yeah, almost forgot about that.
I would recommend you check out this group.

Also, avoid this site until gainfully employed.
Self-pity and Bitterness in your interview responses might not be appealing to future employer
Fully agree with the previous post - Age discrimination is alive and well, especially in the HR/Payroll industry. I have made it to the final round on several interviews (payroll companies) and then when you get to the zoom call, you can literally see the disappointment on their face when they realize you are over 40. Move on to another industry that values work experience, it's not the HR/Payroll industry for sure.
I am the one who commented that "age discrimination is alive and well". For those that may not know, this is a figure of speech that is used to describe something. It does not mean that I am for or against it. It is a description. Period.
It is not a "twisted perspective" as was said. If it was then I would be attacking myself since I am 65 years old, and have good skills and abilities which I believe should count for something. Unfortunately, in many places they don't because I am old. Yes, age discrimination is alive and well and is hampering my ability to get quality employment. It is effectively limiting me and I am NOT definitely for it.
So don't assume that you know what there is to know about a person just by reading a post and making false assumptions about who they are.
@1wfl+19SSUiV6 - That is the whole point of the past 4 years of layoffs. It isn't about getting rid of inexperienced incapable people, but some of those have indeed quit. ADP targeted eliminating the good/talented people to "cut costs". Their grand plan was eliminate 20,000 people and replace them with young inexperience / cheap employees who they can work into the Supercenters to control and watch over them to attempt to force productivity levels back to something at least a portion of where it was before... and the end result was, in their mind, a way to save money ongoing. So, yes, they are continuing but I would not call it back fill. It is replace talent with non-talent to save money.
@rnw+19SSUiV6 - Why is age discrimination "alive and well" as you said. Sounds like you are in very much in favor of it. Are you in favor of all types of discrimination or only against someone for their age? Maybe that is how you attempt to make yourself feel important - by discriminating against people because of their age or whatever. Maybe skills and qualifications and abilities SHOULD count for something instead of your twisted perspective.
Record hiring & vacancies,, it must be the backfill wave then.
Go to ADP’s competition if possible since you have those skills. You probably have though.
For what it’s worth, which isn’t much, just keep trying.
Be well.
If you are an older worker, it may be extremely difficult for you to find a job no matter your past performance and accomplishments. Age discrimination is alive and well. I wish you the best of luck.
Pretty certain no one here is hiring! Most are in the same boat, or fearing (or should be fearing) more planned upcoming layoffs at the hand of this Anti-American CEO.
How old are you? What race are you? ADP seems to be extremely biased and discriminatory even though there are laws against it.
Serious question - in the past, ADP used to offer outplacement services for free. Do they not offer that anymore?
80% of American households lived paycheck to paycheck before the pandemic. 9 month cushion? You have the firstest of first world problems.
