Thread regarding PPG Industries Inc. layoffs

Could it have been a lot better?

I completely agree with someone who said that all ppg knows how to do is make acquisitions, and they know very little about paint business. They seem to have lost touch with reality because they are dealing with everything except what is their core business. That’s my opinion. That’s why it’s getting worse and worse here and that’s why I’ve lost all hope as far as this company is concerned.
And it could have been a lot better, right?

Quality products? WTF are you talking about. Our paint is garbage.

With the quality products architectural offers it should have been great! But we have ignorant and uninformed senior leaders running the business. Bringing in Jaimie was a significant mistake. He is CLUELESS and making horrific decisions that are destroying the core of what we do. He has NO clue what we need to be successful. It is criminal what he is doing. Look at the sheer number of people leaving right now. People that have given their hearts to the business are leaving or about to. Scores of reps are looking to get out of this place. Jaimie is making millions and will no doubt be leaving in a year or two to destroy some other company all for his personal gain. Meanwhile the field can't hire simple $14 an hour positions that are desperately needed! And there is a tyrant at the top in Stores, Vinny, who controls every decision out of lack of trust for the people that are closest to the customer. And sadly, Cranberry is full of over-paid people with no knowledge of what the field does and yet the work in the field pays their salary. Cranberry should be a support arm but they rule with an iron fist and make really bad decisions that are convenient for THEM, not the customer. So sad. It is a case study if there ever was one.
