Thread regarding W.B. Mason layoffs

Furloughed sales not returning

Anyone else hear that furloughed sales won’t return to work ever for Mason?
Also that local management couldn’t tell this to them for legal reasons?

Not to sound insensitive, because I feel for anyone that was involved with WB over the last year...but are there really still furloughed sales reps who actually believe they’re going to be asked back?

I mean it’s now been a full calendar year for a lot of people. In that time:

  • a huge chunk of customers either closed down or switched predominantly to a WFH model absolutely k–ling WB’s business plan
  • I can’t speak on every branch but at my former branch I’ve heard that most furloughed reps business has already been moved to other reps/Florida inside reps

So what exactly do you think you’re coming back to? The people who they retained are barely making any money and that’s with them sc-aping and clawing for every BS order and ppe sale. At the end of the day sales is still a relationship based business and the reality is your customers haven’t talked to you in months and truth be told chances are the rep/manager assigned to them has probably not given them much TLC over the last few months either

i believe mason is listed under the state of Massachusetts PPP loan web site—its public record who got the loans but i dont think the award amounts are listed.

in either case, the reputation this company is earning lately will continue. Keep squeezing that carrot!! 'who but" will soon turn into " who was"?

Interesting, why sell Brockton before closing/selling some of the smaller branches? I wonder if they will end up closing/selling some of the smaller branches in the months to come.

Whatabargin in Brockton in closing and moving to a new building same town

The WB main building on Centre St. in Brockton is possibly getting sold off

There has been close to 2,000 layoffs/furloughs

The entire company is very cheap with money

The people who need sympathy the most right now aren’t the THOUSANDS of people who were furloughed or the HUNDREDS that they kept and are trying to make quit.

We should collectively be thinking about anyone who hasn’t graduated from Stonehill yet. Where will they go after graduating? These people will be looking at the guy who paid $10 million to put his name on a building wondering where will they get their first sales job? Its just SAD!

The only people they attempted to bring back were a few Local customer service reps and are only hiring drivers and “account managers” in Daytona.

Say goodbye to door to door and floor to floor. Say hello to “ Good Morning. I hope you are well.” Email blasts by fla reps.

Where did this story come out of ?? If this is true, I’m not surprised . This company mgt is horrible . If you really thought they were bringing people back, you’re dreaming . But to say “ never work again “ is really pathetic of the company, if this is true .

The loans WB supposedly got from the govt were supposedly based on “ number of employees”, among other things —- that’s probably one of the reasons that they never officially told people . Another gutless move by a bunch of pusses.

Bleep WB Mason ! I’ll be sure to do everything in my power to screw them, at every opportunity.
