I think some of you on these posts live in bizarro world. We are in the middle of a world wide pandemic and nobody is working in their offices. 50% of Canon's revenue is from print. They're not running a charity. They need to make money. Of course they made cuts.

They are hiring replacement employees for those let go a year ago. Same job titles only less salary. These replacements are simply minions to the cowards who made termination decisions. Any way you look at it, the company is loosing its image and is in no way a team/family that they claim. Do not buy anything from them ! Disgusting corporate behavior lacking any ethics.

Clearly upper management is watching and contributing to these posts. Maybe do something positive with the intel gathered then? Good news? For whom? And yes, it is sort of a BS designation. I remember when our PC Mag stats was something to promote until we weren’t #1 and then it was on to the next ridiculous industry survey. Fortunately, Canon does still have a solid name in the industry, probably the only thing keeping us afloat, but continue current business practice and see how long that lasts.

This is a absolute garbage designation. Good news for the masters at the top.
It's not admired by the employees who put their heart and soul into the company for over 20 years to get cut at a moment's notice. Severance packages were decent but they were still cut loose in a horrible environment. It was a sh–ty thing for Canon to do. Now the employees who are left are doing double and triple duty from the deep cuts.
