Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Is there anyone trying to stay here?

Everyone says that they are sick of both Macy’s and the environment here and that they are actively looking for new jobs. I have not heard anyone say that they are trying to keep their job here and that they are trying to find a way to stay here.
Is it possible that no one is trying to keep the job? I would like to go, but at the same time I work as much and as well as I can, because I know already that the grass is not much greener elsewhere either. At least not in retail.

I love my job... there are upsides and downsides like everything else in life.

Most of the people on this site, are so negative that i would agree should look for employment elsewhere. And im positive the negativity doesnt just stay on this message board, but permeates into their job and every day life. You are the ones making it miserable for others.

I was actively looking right before this pandemic. I don’t love this place like I once did sadly. Pays the bills and close to home. So I do what I have to do and go home. I’m too nervous about leaving now. Definitely won’t be in retail when I do. But my fear is last one hired, first one fired—if I move on. I’m the sole income in my household.

I love my job. I’ve worked for Macy’s for 8 years and I want to stay.

Hey I currently work for NCR and I will tell you honestly my job at Macy’s was better. The grass definitely not always greener on the other side. NCR is more stable but more cutthroat and monitors everything you do. Hang in there and keep looking. Keep playing the lottery also LOL.

I'm part-time and a peon, so it makes a big difference, but yes, I want to stay. I love the people I work with and since the store is close to home, I see quite a few members of the community. Unemployment pays more, but since it's in a "lock-box" state, the store has been a life-line.
