Unfortunately, chances are that Sears will eventually turn into a case study for business schools as an example of how not to run a company and especially how not to run in times of crisis. Anyone agree that there is no better example for a case study of how to ruin a company?
I’m not sorry that I got laid off, but I’m sorry that this could have been a company that continued to employ a large number of people for a long time.

Prof Cohen uses Eddie as a case study at Columbia.
the story is frankly too old and stale to be an interesting case study. Subway is a better example of screwing the customer.
The softer side campaign in the 90s was actually a success in reviving the company, albeit only temporary in the grand scheme of things.

Why not give the name? Unless you’ve signed some sort of non-disclosure agreement, I doubt the case study or University even exist

Oh, it's a successful business...it's just not a retail business.
It's already being done. A private university here in Southern California used it as a case study in how to destroy a business.
But..... that was BEFORE his Kmart / Sears debacle!
When I earned my MBA, Mr. Lampert actually was a case study for the many things he did right.
