Unfortunately, it will certainly bring layoffs, but I am interested in what you think about the sale of enterprise business to Symphony? Is it a good move for McAfee or yet another debacle? I wonder what the results of this move will be, apart from the layoffs. I don’t see anything good coming out of it, correct me if I’m wrong.

"unless you're a large shareholder" - mean like Peter Leav?
The last statement of ownership from McAfee I saw was Oct 2020, and had him outright owning 1.96 million shares between vested RSU and direct issued common stock. In short, the $4.50 dividend from this little venture is going to land him over $8.8-million, without selling a single share. All he had to do for it was have Team-Peter play chess with a few thousand people's lives.
All in all, not a bad pay day. Good work if you can get it.
And those jobs in the back office that support both consumer and enterprise. The business is trying to put positive spin on it but I can't see any positives, unless you're a large shareholder.
Probably bad for both sides. Good short term, but bad long term.
I am wondering what will happen to
- people working for Consumer but reporting to Enterprise
- people working for Enterprise but reporting to Consumer
I am one of those people, probably going to get chopped soon.
