DER certification is a flagrant violation of the "conflict of interest" section of the code of ethics that ALL companies should follow per the law. That certification authority should be eliminated.
The problem with the airplanes that Boeing makes is not just Boeing's execs, it's the incompetent and lazy FAA that delegates most of the certification authority to Boeing's engineers.
It's like cops allowing you to write your own speeding tickets if you think so. Would you?
