Thread regarding ADP layoffs

Would they have better products if it wasn't for the pandemic?

Pandemics is a great excuse for poor management of this company. When nothing goes wrong - blame the pandemic. Nothing easier. I just wonder if our products wouldn’t be so awful had the pandemic not happened. We were really on our way to doing ingenious things, and then a pandemic prevented us from doing so. /sarc.
I hate when they use COVID as an excuse.

Think about your question: "Would they have better products is not for the pandemic?"

That is at best a masked excuse for bad products, and more likely a sign of just the terrible thinking that has permeated ADP. Not "take accountability for bad decisions" but rather "it has to be anything other than bad decisions made by the so called leaders."

Hire Indians, fire Americans... get Jugaad payroll products. Think I am joking, look at the "Jugaad Quality":

Now, think about how jigged and rigged ADP products are - duct tape and bailing wire! And they wonder why clients are highly upset and big clients are leaving?

I talk to clients daily as part of my job and am embarrassed to have to make excuses to try calm them down due to the poor products now. It does not seem to me to be getting better at all, actually more problems daily.

C'mon man! The answer is NO! Products are bad because of the people running things. Period.

The reality is the products are WORSE now more than ever because of many reasons. First, is they got rid of those talented folks that knew the business inside and out and hired cheap inexperienced labor that is more interested in trying to look cool. Second, is ADP's switch to a "Product Management" organization with "Agile" development that completely divided people and fostered people to aim to the least possibly deliverables with a bunch of process and overhead of useless "product management" people. Third, is ADP continues to put lipstick on the pig - they are more interested now in the user interface than actually calculating correct payroll or managing back offices needs of the clients, and as a result clients are highly upset. ADP continues to hire "talkers" and not "doers". I challenge anyone to show me any VP or above now that actually has worked in any capacity other than mere "talk and politics". So, bottom line, wrong people running things; wrong decisions; wrong direction.

ADP products WERE bad before the pandemic. ADP products ARE bad during the pandemic. ADP products WILL CONTINUE to be bad after the pandemic.

It's not the pandemic, it's the leadership. Yes, the pandemic is certainly a good excuse for bad management. Blame it on the pandemic and avoid taking responsibility.
