Getting a lot of comments the last few days from customers asking if we are closing. I know our shelves are bare but they honestly look BETTER than they did in January. That and we got a lot of new inventory in this week (Newell, Essentially Basic etc).
Just was wondering what other stores are hearing from customers and reaction because while we KNOW we aren’t closing....the amount of people asking is getting ridiculous!!
We've been asked for years. If fact, we were told by a customer this week that we're closing April 1st.
I think we should have a special door in the back of the store we can take customers to and show them the vast assortment that lies “way beyond”. That way they can see we are not closing, but realizing our goal of having customers drive to our store to place an online order with a long shipping window. That way the item is even more special when it arrives because they almost forgot the ordered it two weeks ago.
We get it every day.
Yeah, as long as you hide empty shelves behind banners, it's all good.
What twisted logic we use to fool ourselves.
We used to get a ton of comments lime that during the holiday season but once we put up the new banners it went significantly down as the store just didn’t look as empty as it did last year.
