I'm a CommScope customer in NC.
FYI, I heard ads for jobs at CommScope's plants in the Hickory area.

Manufacturing is Engineering, unless you have replaced us with robots. Still you need Engineers to program the robot.
I'm shocked when people think less of Manufacturing than it is.
The radio ad is for manufacturing roles, not engineers.
Hickory always gets hit with layoffs. Ask any Intern, or anyone there who will tell ya.
Hope the candidates check the layoff.com first. Yikes! I haven't listened to the radio for over ten years. Not since my parents used to own that car with a CD player.
My Bluetooth phone streams podcast to my car 🚗 and to my Bluetooth headphones 🎧 and to my Bluetooth speaker 🔊
AM/FM Radio. Whooboy!! That is so 'old school'.
They arent really serious ?
Engineers don't listen to radio. We have everything on an HTTP interface, via a cellphone.
"Sure, you're a customer and you check out thelayoff.com to share. Sure thing."
I keep track of the fiber cablers, not just Commscope. A quick skim here and on Corning's TheLayoff.com board gives me a sense of what's going on behind the scenes.
The market for fiber materials is all over the map. Some stuff is available immediately, some stuff has a 12 month backlog. Mostly it's been a seller's market.
From my perspective, that radio ad is bad news – it means I can expect higher prices and longer delays for 2021. For you all, it's good news (at least in Hickory)
Also, I used to work for several fiber cable and component suppliers (but not Commscope), so the gossip interests me. I lived in Hickory for awhile.
That's the first place they layoff. Always layoffs in the USA.
