Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Notice/Contract

Hesitant to ask this from HR but where you can find the work contract (for full-time employers) on the intranet? How many days in advance notice of leave is required (USA)?

No requirement. You could just stop showing up if you wanted to without saying anything. We had a guy do that. He got a note from a Doctor saying he was having a breakdown and just disappeared rather than be fired. It took more than a year to fire him all the while he was collecting pay. This was in Canada.

No notice required. Providing two weeks notice for administrative purposes is customary and professional.

You’re at will. Leave whenever you want with however much notice YOU want to give.

HR doesn’t want to answer to show they are on this site. Then they couldn’t act oblivious to how employees feel about the company.
