Intel leadership is crooked and greedy, look at what they do. The ethics of what they are and culture, I'm not surprised.

I hate the patent trolls, but not surprised Intel looks to take advantage of anyone and everyone they can.

Who cares about who handles the case, the issue is Intel did steal the know-how technology from VLSI, and that is only the beginning of how to destroy the company who used to exploit other company people's brains.

The trial was fought between two prominent 70 year old Asian American lawyers in William Lee representing Intel and Morgan Chu (brother of Nobel Prize winning Physics prof Stephen Chu) representing the patent troll VLSI (patents via NXP). Surprised to see Intel pony up for such a prominent lawyer in Bill Lee, but he is outclassed by Morgan Chu, who has been called the top IP lawyer in the US. See Intel, top tier talent makes a difference. In the case, a difference of $2.18 Billion, or half your 4th quarter profit. Also, screw Bill Lee, who supported Harvard in its defense of the Asian American admissions discrimination lawsuit.
