Latest VMware Job Cuts Impact More Workers in California

The latest VMware cuts will leave more than 100 workers without a job starting in late March.

According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice with the California Employment Development Department, 107 workers are getting the axe. That includes 93 who work at VMware’s Palo Alto, California, headquarters, and 14 who work remotely.

Check on official WARN Cali website: https://edd.ca.gov/Jobs_and_Training/Layoff_Services_WARN.htm
Download the xlsx file: https://edd.ca.gov/Jobs_and_Training/warn/WARN_Report.xlsx

You would see:

I may be wrong, but this the same layoffs that happened last month.
It's just that WARN has been filed now and date mentioned in above article is March 30 onwards.
So, that's two months later than Jan 28, which is the time we are on vmware payroll to find gigs internally.

With all the associate level positions being filled, I’m wondering if this layoff is to make room for these lower cost newbies?
