Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

One correction for OP. WJW was not SM’s hand picked successor. That was JS. BoD didnt like JS though, and overruled SM. JM worked with WJW and brought him in.

For those that think you’re special because you’re still on the ship, think again. Most of the time it’s got nothing to do with being better than the ones that were cut loose.

I feel like now we finally have the A team in place to really get out of this sluggish mode for the last two years. The pork belly spending on corporate fat f—ks is finally starting to sharpen up a little bit. Goes with my mantra of “laser focus”. We finally have some halfway competent personnel on rig and well locations. It’s time to start printing cash like we did years ago. Big bonuses are on the horizon. This is an exciting week for Southwest Energy.

We’ll be giving out free all beef frank hot dogs In the Market starting at 11am tomorrow to celebrate this inflection point in our history. Go SWN!

I love this website and these posts. So glad I survived the 5th cycle of layoffs. It was never in doubt I will have a job in Spring. Gotta be honest most of who was let go yesterday will not be missed. I am sure they can drag someone else’s bottom line down when they are hired (if again).

So long time follower, first time poster here. I worked at SWN “back in the day”, but been gone for more than 9 years and moved on to a more reputable outfit. I just sit back and laugh. This guy running the show just feeds his own ego with these layoffs. I think he goes home and giggles about this. Feel sorry for anyone stuck working there? Y’all even back in the office yet? Did they lay people of virtually? None of that would shock me with this guy and his group of cronies.

Been reading all these posts. No one has addressed the elephant in the room. Is this the last round of layoffs? Well anyone?!?!

To the boy who posted about not being on the site and this board for a long time. The old saying “he who smelled it dealt it”. You are the one making the potty humor and for all of us still on this board cause it speaks truth and humor please kiddo go back under the rock you crawled out of. This board is for the adults.

He is the 13 highest paid energy CEO in the US. For always harping about G&A the management team at that company is compensated pretty well. Maybe they should take the example of the peers and take a pay cut before the next round of layoffs to save G&A. He is not that good of a CEO that he deserves that much.

To the previous poster. As long as Way keeps $hitting it up and clogging toilets, walking out with TP stuck in his pants, and acting like a second grader and not a CEO, he will continue to be mocked. Got it? Good.

First time back on the page in a while, been off the Swn board for years. Sad to see the same mo–n making p–p jokes, it’s been years dude, seriously. What are the layoff counts? Anyone have information worth reading?
