Any ideas when we can hope to have job security once again?

Being laid off last year was hard, but it was the best thing that could have happened for my mental health. I was there for 15 years and it just kept on getting worse. Making it through layoff after layoff seemed like a win, but it wasn’t.
I no longer worry about job security, and I am actually trusted enough to make decisions in my new job. It’s refreshing. I am valued every day at work. I never truly felt that at CNOOC or Nexen.
The people left behind are great, and I get why they stay, but it’s just a horrible place to work now. I had no idea just how bad it was until I got out.
Oil is going up. The bumpy ride is over!
Working there you will never feel secure. I worked there for 20 years and there was a time when you felt worthy and secure but barely after the ink was dry on sale papers in 2013 most of our professional lives changed. If you have a number of years there stay until you get the envelope it’s financially in your best interest other than that get out as soon as you can.
You must be less than five years into your first job if you think there's such a thing as job security in oil.
I'm getting really tired of having to stress over possible layoffs every single day.
