Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

MY HR Enhancements

Has any People Leader seen the webinars on the my HR enhancements? I have only seen one webinar. It seems that the mangers/people leaders are going to own the onboarding process. What is AST roles then? Will new hires no longer report to AST for their training? How much can Macy's throw at the managers? This enhancement will lead to more cuts down the line.

None of the CSX managers do anything cash office related at my store.

The new enhancements are going to be so much better once it’s up and running correctly.

They won’t be getting rid of AST anytime soon. They have to wait for everyone to master the new process.

Until then, everything is currently a cluster ****! Just a mess.

To the girl that said she is living a nightmare trying to learn all of this new info, you are not alone. I'm going through the exact same thing at my store. No one but me seems interested or the slightest bit worried about learning all this new Oracle stuff. I don't have time at work to watch the webinars so I'm stuck bringing work home with me and reading anything I can find. The more I read the more I wonder if I'm just doing all of this for nothing. It seems like so much of our work is going to go to the People Leaders and it's definitely not like Macy's to try lighten anyone's load. It's more like them to eliminate a position to save a little money, though. It's very frustrating and from one AST to another I totally know how you feel.

I feel your problems. Typical Macy's not having everything figured out before the release. There are many in the company I assume who are trying top figure it out. The SWST team was just spoken to about their role and some new spread sheet. Req will eventually be generated, This is all above what you can do. Based in what you posted, no wonder your MBA quit. Your store manager is wrong to ask you that.

I'm living a nightmare trying to learn this. All the managers refuse to watch the videos. The store manager wants to hire people ASAP and when I explain they have to go through a process, she tells me she doesn't have time for that, she just needs them to get in. She won't listen that there is no bypassing this just because she wants them trained tomorrow. I am the only one watching the videos and reading the FAQ's. I'm not exaggerating, literally no one will listen to me and I'm scared about what's gonna happen because this is so new and I'm having trouble learning this alone. I am only a part-time AST, the only one in the office. My MBA just quit. I have a medical accommodation to restrict my schedule because of my epilepsy, and she keeps telling me to talk to my neurologist so I can work more hours. I don't think HR encourages that sort of talk but maybe I'm wrong... And now she wants to hire one of her friends for MBA... God help me.

Macys has been trying to cut AST for years. Its one of the first buckets they look at when it comes to consolidating. Its only a matter of time until big J finds a way to make it work.
In reality CXMs and captains have been reconciling the cash office for about a year.
I heard talks about virtual onboarding.
Lets face it, you can literally open a bank account online, you can earn an accredited degree online. Why not onboard virtually?
As for clerical and administrative work, they can easily throw that on exec in the store. Maybe the ASM (or whatever its called)
Audits can go to AP or OPS.

And there you have it..... AST GO BYE BYE

Hard to answer your question because I can't tell what webinar you saw or what your role it. I THINK you are an AST, right?

You are mistaken. AST and MBA still own the process to get the person onboarded. They will still do the welcome call, still do the I9 process on Day 1 and the training. The PL part is still more about the interview and having access to everything without AST or MBA printing a bunch of paper. We still have a lot to learn but stop panicking about this. If you remember the deck of slides you will see AST and MBA are still "superusers" and your role is still the same as it was before the change.....
