NY updates warn notice law in Nov. 20 to must have 90 day notice for over 50 employees laid off. No warn notices as of today. GE's new way of doing things is offer severance packages first as that saves them alot versus layoffs. So we should be safe for awhile. So if no rumors from union or vrip's we probably safe to end of year. Maybe business will pick up by then.

They will lay off 25 at a time so they don't have to give notice. That's why they been doing it roughly 30 at a time in North Carolina
So GE will layoff 150-180 people to be under the radar. They have to layoff those unskilled T Rates because FCF is flat no improvement. Also the demand for generators are way down the service will stay because they have service contracts to uphold. Other than that full builds are way down more than what these new area of management told everybody. Why do you think so many ops leaders and engineers left on their own after seeing many of their co workers got pink slips. The writing is on the wall!
WARN is still 250 people in NY for large companies
Warn notices do not apply when under a union contract! There was no WARN notice the last layoff. As for business picking up I doubt that global demand for the junk we make is down at least 40%. On top of that the new president is going green! So get ready to learn how to wire a solar panel or get a real skilled job with value. See you at.......
