Company wide reorg with some groups already notified of demotions. Leadership says this is to flatten the hierarchy but mostly likely a ploy to push people out without another round of layoffs.

Make no mistake fellow PL’ers, the weak exec leadership will work to rid itself of the high salary OC team. Looking to outfit the company with cheap midwesterners and real solid performers from the Genworth group....remind me how well did that all turn out Lynchburg. All of you remaining are just buying time, do yourself a favor and flip your management the bird next time they are lying to you about how well the company is doing, what a great place PL is to work at or that your position is safe. You position is safe, you doing it isn’t. Trust most of us who were fortunate to get out, life is better outside of PL.
I agree. When our company started announcing the IT outsourcing project they led us to believe with a nod and a wink they would simply be eliminating the lowest ranked and those who never tried - you know, a few on each team to get rid of the busy work they did so we could help drive the companies more valuable work.
What a waste. I was an over-achiever and all along their plan was to keep the people with average performance and average pay. All the leads and hot shots got laid off. Then the rest got kicked out the year after.
We have all had it beaten into our heads that companies always keep the best and layoff the worst. Sometimes they are looking for a giant salary dump and go after the high performers, the best and brightest also.
The new PL. No sliding into other roles, no changing teams just out the door. They can’t seem to whack the California workforce fast enough. “Ok Bob 200 in Newport, now let’s pick one guy from Omaha, ok good, now pick one 19 year old from Lynchburg. Run the numbers, ok good we should be free from discriminatory lawsuits. That’s the plan run with it good buddy!” Remember when people would change divisions or entirely different teams? Phhtttt not a chance anymore. Ok John I know you just finished your masters in finance but this job belongs to the new 6 month contractor with neck tattoos from Gary Indiana out you go!
