If you are a professional then you do what it takes to get the job done. Oxy doesn't pay overtime or enhanced bonuses for just doing your job. There is no such thing as comp time either. Grow up.

@6zxw+198VuFxV depends on the department. Mine has always been lean before all the layoffs and VSPs and there has been no replacements after those events. We have been stretched thin, working overtime to cover people. We all know this shouldn't happen, but it is so we want the fair compensation that goes along with it.
To the 2nd responder (below) who states that "the company is incredibly lean".... I have to say, "huh"?
We may have VSP'd a lot of productive male rednecks who work rigs and generate revenue, but OXY corporate has a ton of pink-collar overhead. A lot of it is in "recruitment". – Did you notice on our homepage, they are engaging in gender-biased "outreach" for STEM graduates (no males need apply). And oh, there is that "Micro-Aggressions" training being presented. I believe we also have a "Director of Diversity" whom we picked up from Anakarko. – A Director with no direct-reports, who generates zero revenue, and exists, for what reasons exactly?
All of us in corporate are aware of the incredibly expensive director-types who do little/nothing, yet never go anywhere.
Lean? We are loaded to the gills with all kind of "woke blubber".
Can the board please perform a micro-aggression and finally fire stupid Vicki before she does anymore damage?
Micro-aggression? HR always reinvents themselves. They are hero’s.
I think the company is counting on people leaving of their own volition. – It reduces the amount of VSP being paid.
OXY's operating results have been lousy, and getting progressively lousier every since Aunt Vicky was crowned Queen of the Permian. that is not the fault of the employees – its the fault of Blackrock and Vanguard – who could have removed Vicki years ago, but didn't – because they are pushing their "woke" agenda. [ EXAMPLE: 1st week of February OXY is holding a "Micro-Aggression" training course for employees.. You cannot make this stuff up. The management culture here is a laughing-stock.]
But it doesn't matter that employees are not to blame. The "fortunes" of the company, poor as they are, negate any economic rationale for paying bonuses this year (for 2020). Probably, instead, the BOD will reward a relative few mission-critical execs with phantom shares.
If the company doesn’t pay bonuses everyone will leave as soon as things improve. I bet some are already trying to with cross functional skills and they should. OXY doesn’t treat its employees right. Plus with the full on assault on the fossil fuel industry right now execs shouldn’t even take bonus and give that all back to the people who actually do the work. Why should execs make 16 million when they lose shareholders billions...let’s not kid ourselves either there is a big difference between oil CEOs who have destroyed 80 billion in shareholder value over the past 10 years and tech CEOs who actually pay dividends to the real owners of the company
The company is incredibly lean after COC and VSP's. Those of us at Oxy who actually work and have picked-up a lot of extra work to cover for all the people that left feel that we deserve a bonus. With the state of the industry and within Oxy, it may not be the full amount, but should be something.
