Not too many technical subsurface people on the CVE side were let go. In fact, many half wits it seemed got promoted today. And I mean half wits. ......
Read this on Cenovus forum and now I'm fuming. We lost so many good people and for what? They should have cut underperformed across the board, not just focused on reducing the numbers on our side. This is wrong on so many levels.
Just for curiosity, if the employees of both companies are that good, very talented, hard workers, innovative, and best in the industry then why both of these companies fail miscereably in comparison to other companies around?
What is there to get angry about? Both companies had a significant amount of dead wood.
Husky did the same thing in 2018. Many undeserving people kept their jobs because they were buddies with the Senior exes and the company let really good people go. Husky was one of the worst managed companies I have ever seen (and it started with Peabody). They would hire two people to do what would have been 1 job in other companies. They would underpay because of their awful HR policies and had people in roles they had no business being in. Always been a believer that you get what you pay for.
Anyone who thought the layoffs would be equal on both sides were completely delusional. No question about it, it is takeover and CVE can do whatever it chooses.

Yep, same c-ap again and again. It's a wonder nobody has figured it out when each time they do layoffs they get less efficient instead of more. That should tell any half wit that you kept all the mo–ns... but morale is higher because everyone works with their HS and uni friends!! Yay, I hope the bonus is good this year!

What is the government doing to protect oil and gas jobs. Alberta is the engine that drives the rest of the country. We have supported the rest of Canada, where is the rest of the country now?
