The reactions on this thread are spot on. If they don't like you behind your back, they will set you up to fail no matter what. Been there.

The last 2 big layoffs last year and prior to, the dates someone left were spot on. There is someone who leaves accurate info on here eventually. Just wanted dates...

The comment below is so true. I’m safe because I’m well liked by my boss. I manage 1.5 projects per year and someone else in our department had about 15 new projects per year and they were laid off because the boss didn’t like them very much. It’s a fact of life. Performance and knowledge doesn’t mean much at Optum. It’s who you know and who likes you.

The folks that know will say nothing or else their jobs are over. It is a often deeply kept secret.

Every day I work with the knowledge that I will be laid off.
Every day I work on linkedin

Folks in planning/budgeting are working long hours. all day...all night and into the weekend. I am sure they are figuring out staffing costs.

I figure that if I can last six months, there will be enough vaccine to make a difference to get back to normal.

Just trying to last each day right now. Its a buddy system here. If they know or like you they will spare you If they do not like you, no matter how well you perform, you will be gone.
