Company is well underway training Supervisors and Contractors in preparation of a possible upcoming strike. Just finished attending my second day of repair and responding to damages.
Hope it happens as I can use the extra money for sure.

How many “contractors” are there that hold VP and above roles?
You’re a mo–n if you are hoping there will be a strike. Nobody on either side of the table wants a strike.
As a contractor in IT I wouldn't be surprised if they use COVID to try and make more people a contractor over the next few years, no matter how they are doing financially. Employee given package, replace with contractor. Given layoffs in energy companies, a lot of people will take anything. That's only likely to get worse. Layoff group, hire back as contractors. What's preventing it?
"There's a massive disconnection between supervisors think happens, and what actually happens."
Oh! I love absolutes. They reduce anybody you want to malign to a single outcome.
Let me try! "Complaining people on thelayoff don't understand management in the slightest."
There's a massive disconnection between supervisors think happens, and what actually happens. There's no options with contractors... we have just 1 and they're terrible.
