Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Optum rx mandates all return to work Feb 15, 2021

What have you been told regarding Optum rx all employees return to work, essential employees? Our office is too small for 6 feet social distancing so we have to wear a mask all day. Many have been working from home, including non high risk with production better than in the office . We only have a few that self identified as high risk. We have been told either take a leave of absence or resign if we are not comfortable returning back to work.. Presently they have people working at every other workstation, if we all come in there will be no 6 feet apart . What are others doing ? A leave of absence, you have to e mail your boss, they can deny and cut it short if you are needed.

Wage Slavery + Stockholm syndrome = US employee, explains quite a bit regarding those choosing to go to the office during the plague

It was going to end at some point. Just because the news may stop talking about it or maybe more are "Vaccinated" there will be a risk. On Feb 15 or Dec 31, doesn't matter. But if your job is not determined to be a WFH long term and they gave you a date you just have to make a choice. It is what it is.

"Mask up and go to work like everyone else, and get vaccinated"

Yes, he is right. Go back to work and work very hard. As a shareholder of Optum, I need a healthy return on my investment. And if that means you have to be in the office, so be it. My money is far more important than your health. It is not easy to pay my monthly dock fees for my yacht and I like to get a new BMW since my old one is already 4 years old. I wont be able to do that if you stay at home,

Work hard. Work everyday. and of course work to make me rich. Thank you all and stay healthy since replacement costs for employees takes away from profits. I be flying to the Cayman islands for a little vacation but I expect you all to be in the office working hard.

I agree, cry me a river. People have been working through this whole thing side by side because they are “essential”, what makes you special sitting at a desk? Mask up and go to work like everyone else, and get vaccinated.

If you get covid, you can claim workers comp if you can show it happened at work. All you need is another employee to test positive.
