I heard there is already a merger in the works from someone on the inside and all of the cuts will be on the Whiting side. The backers pushing the merger have stake in both companies and they've grown tired of Whiting management (even though it's changed... same trailer, different park). If you look at how top heavy Whiting is compared to the company they will be merging with, it's painfully obvious who will win out. Unfortunately, the Denver office will be no more.

Time to start cutting from the top and the middle. There aren't many individual contributors left. Just 'managers'. If you ever want a good laugh, look at the size of the company compared to the amount of employees that are director and above. You'd think they are Exxon. So much dead weight for a company that's already circling the drain.

There was some talk about it a few weeks ago and then it all went quiet.
