Quest can not afford to buy cutting edge tech. So they will s— up market leaders of old tech and play the grow my ebitda accounting game. If they get lucky someone will fall for it and they can exit. If not, they can hang on for a few years and milk their ever increasing portfolio of applications.

I don't know what anyone else thinks but Erwin appears to have a similarly 1990's vibe so should fit in well with the Quest crew and their technology prowess.

The redundancies at Erwin should be let go rather quick. “where next meets now” after all.
Any Quest redundancies should get the heave ho in 6 months to a year.
That would be the standard operating procedure for Francisco. Not counting any work force reduction planning they were already doing before Erwin.

Of course...they just acquired another company from the 90s so it's time to slash. ERWIN was the main competitor for Toad Data Modeler so they can sunset TDM, the devs, the support. Then they can k–l off the HR, legal, admin from ERWIN to eliminate duplication. Lastly, they can k–l off most of the dev for ERWIN products since Quest is only a maintenance hanger where software goes to die.
