Avid upper management is always so trigger-happy when it comes to layoffs, EXCEPT when management needs cutting. Everybody here knows that our management is bloated. There are many useless positions with so few direct reports that getting rid of half of them wouldn't even be noticed. But no, for some reason managers stay on while the people who do the actual work are getting cut. A really sound business strategy we have here.
