People who have no clue what they are talking about on the internet are the broad reason for this. Five Guys is a quickly growing company formed on a foundation of ethics, leadership, personal development, and leadership. The most important part of any Five Guys is the crew! FIVE GUYS in Vista California closed in Fall 2021

A burger, Large Fries and a Large Drink in California almost $20... The cashier makes $20/hr though...

Well, the 5Guys near me I spent in June $18 for a cheeseburger, small fries, and a small drink. Compare that to getting the same caloric intake at McDonald's. It a wonder they remain in business at all.

Like anything else, depending upon location and employees, Five Guys can be good or lousy. Unfortunately, the Five Guys near me went belly up in 2018 before the Pandemic because service stunk and the food was garbage (a Burger King Whopper was better than whatever this Five Guys location was trying to peddle). Plus they were just too expensive, outpriced Red Robin.

"Please don't trust FaceBook" is stupid. FaceBook is just a website.

Please don't trust people who lie and make up stuff, whether it's about Five Guys closing or vaccinations or masks or orange criminals.

They aren't closing, stop the idiocy yes some locations will and have closed but the same can be said of McDonald's I assure you neither of them is anywhere close to going out of business. It's a franchise business meaning different owners own different locations and some struggle others do not.

In fact five guys is playing to expand to Australia and has plans for other foreign countries.

The locations in Texas that were sold were sold from one owner to another the new owner has no plans to close most of the locations he acquired.

Twitter and Facebook are not even close to being reliable sources. Do not trust anything you read on them.

I love Five Guys. Their fries are the best! Their burgers are top-notch. But their prices are high!

Some of you are nuts. Their fries are the best. If you don't like their fries then you must have done something to burn off your taste buds. Greasy, yes I will give you that however thats what makes their burgers taste so good. They are closing (some locations) and that gets left out of the Facebook post. So the post is correct, just not complete.

I have seen 2 very busy locations (prior to Coronavirus) closing in Toronto and others in surrounding areas

They are selling the Texas locations because they actually pay their quarantined employees to this day. I believe they are doing very well on the east coast of the US as well as in Europe. I would be completely shocked to hear a statement that they are filing for bankruptcy.

My wife and I use to go there often. But there are now better burgers elsewhere for less money. The cost has gone up way too much, the burgers do seem smaller, and their fries have never been good.

I would go to the one here in Saint George. Utah. They were so pricey, but SOOOO good!

Are they closing? Of course not. They closed a few stores in the Middle East and now everyone is saying they are closing.

Five guys is just ok...food is very greasy and gross.

I really like their food, all of it.

I think they are too expensive, like they are divorced from reality - most people struggle and it's hard to afford a 15 dollar meal. I am getting paid $17/hr and by the time they take taxes, my wages are cut almost by 40%. This means that I need to work 1.5 to 2 hours every day just to afford a meal - it's expensive. They should be in a 7 to 9 dollar range for a meal.

Never been impressed with Five Guys' food. I no longer visit them

I love Five Guys, but they are a little expensive. It's become a rare treat...and I love their bacon shakes (salted caramel), but I am not crazy about their fries. Prices should come down, it would help a lot...but otherwise, I am glad that my Five Guys is not on any closing list! Happy New Years from Vermont!

So, are they closing or not?

Most, if not all, Five Guys locations in LA County and Orange County are "Temporarily Closed" and should be opening soon. This is due to covid and due to the layout of the stores. If you go on Yelp! you can see what's happening - just enter the city. Here are some that are flagged as "Temp CLOSED" - opening on Dec 29 2021 (Not sure if they will still be closed on that day though):

Here is the statement by the family that owns Five Guys (it does not sound good):

• On March 25, we furloughed 50 percent of our corporate staff and reduced compensation for all remaining employees. Owners and senior executives have not received compensation since March 11.
• In mid-March we began to pursue options to raise capital and improve our liquidity. These efforts continue.

I loved Five Guys when they first came out...then they got famous and the fries got less and more expensive...they kept changing the more famous they got and so I quit going...
